PRP Hair Restoration is a non-surgical solution that is useful for the treatment of hair loss in both men and women. Platelet Rich Plasma contains growth factors and attracts stem cells that naturally stimulate the development of new hair follicles while improving the health of existing dormant follicles. PRP decreases hair loss, increases the thickness of individual stands and may also increase shine, vitality, and strength. Declining hair-splitting and breakage may also be noted.
Scalp Treatment Overview
A small sample of blood is drawn from the patient and processed using a centrifuge to extract the PRP. A topical anesthetic is applied to numb the scalp. The PRP is then administered with a very fine needle. Micro-needling is combined with PRP injections to improve the outcome of the treatment. Micro-needling helps to improve the circulation to the scalp, helps to activate the platelets and improves topical absorption of PRP.
Mild swelling and redness can be expected 1-4 days following the treatment. It is recommended to avoid vigorous activity until the swelling has subsided.
